Secret Sauce 11 - Baby

This mix is an ode to my mom’s hot fudge – saucy, warm and bubbly.

It’s the feeling of knowing home, even when far away. Longing for that familiar place when we miss the ones we love. It starts off sweet and smooth, simmers for a while in a swirly eddy and then finishes with a thick crescendo of drummy heat. I hope that just like mom’s hot fudge, this mix goes well with any dessert (but especially ice cream).

Ingredients

  • 2 c sugar
  • 6 tbsp flour
  • 2 c milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • ⅔ c cocoa
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter

Method

  1. Mix dry ingredients very well
  2. Add milk and cook until thick
  3. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla
